FrontCom® Micro

For the programming and configuration of a system, the computer is accessed via standardised interfaces, such as RJ45 or USB. With the IPC, the interfaces are, however, located within the switching cabinet. The consequence: For servicing, users always need to open the switching cabinet door - a process which is not only time-consuming but also risky. Klaus Leuchs, product manager IE passive at Weidmüller, knows: “An open switching cabinet door always involves the risk that the components inside the switching cabinet are without any protection exposed to harmful environmental effects as well as to unauthorised access.”

Weidmüller has, together with its customers, developed an amazingly simple and practical solution: FrontCom® – the front panel interface. It can be easily mounted to the switching cabinet door and allows access to all devices inside the switching cabinet – without needing to open the door.

New in the FrontCom® family is the FrontCom® Micro.

Compact design, IP65 rating, a wide range of RJ45 and USB inserts, and STEADYTEC™ technology turn FrontCom® Micro into a practical service interface for secure and flexible access to the inside of the switching cabinet.

Thanks to FrontCom®, commissioning, servicing, monitoring, and system enhancements are faster, easier, and more focused.

Simple installation

"Micro" – the name says it all: Being extremely compact, FrontCom® Micro can be mounted to switching cabinet walls, distribution boxes or control desks through a 22 mm standard round hole with central screw connection.

Protected interface

IP65 rating and a securely lockable housing turn FrontCom® Micro into a perfectly protected service interface, which can only be accessed by authorised persons.

Reliable data transfer

Thanks to STEADYTEC™-technology, a secure and reliable data transfer is guaranteed – up to 10 gigabit Ethernet.

Flexible use

FrontCom® Micro makes standards more flexible. It is available for the standardised interfaces RJ45 and USB and has various adapter solutions: RJ45 coupling, RJ45 module (TIA-A, TIA-B, PROFINET), USB-A coupling.
