SNAP IN makes wiring processes in cabinet building simple, fast, safe and ready-to-robot. As the fastest and safest connection technology on the market, it offers pioneering solutions for industry. Since its launch in 2021, SNAP IN has been recognized for its innovation, winning the German Innovation Award in 2022
Revolutionize Wiring with Speed and Safety
The concept of SNAP IN connection technology is extremely simple and, above all, practical for the installer: stripped fine-stranded conductors are simply inserted into the ccontact point. When the conductor is inserted (with or without ferrules), the pre-loaded contact point triggers automatically. The safe connection is then signaled acoustically by a clearly audible click. In addition, an increase in the pusher height also visually indicates that the connection is secure. The insertion force required for this is minimised.
As soon as the conductor is inserted deep enough into the contact point, the connection is triggered. The reliable contacting of the conductor guarantees a vibration-proof, gas-tight and long-term stable connection. It works just as quickly and easily the other way round: the pusher is pressed down to the second click to release the conductor quickly and easily at any time and pre-loading the connection point for rewiring. The ease of use of SNAP IN eliminates the need for specialized staff, a significant advantage in times of skilled labor shortages. Many cabinet builders already benefiting from the simple, fast and safe installation and maintenance provided by SNAP IN, resulting in time savings and increased productivity.
Weidmüller offers a growing portfolio of products equipped with SNAP IN technology, enabling you to provide customized solutions that meet diverse cabinet builders needs. This enables customised solutions for every end customer and ensures maximum compatibility.
Thanks to the integrated SNAP IN technology, the S-series terminal blocks from the Klippon® Connect portfolio meet the highest demands for optimised wiring processes and are ideal for panel building. In addition to intuitive handling, the pre-loaded connection points of the S Series support robotic automation. When developing the S series, we focussed on the conductor cross-section range < 2.5 mm2. This area has the highest number of connections, which is why the SNAP IN technology really comes into its own here when it comes to wiring. The S series currently includes: feed-through and PE terminal blocks with two, three and four connection points. The portfolio also includes other 4 mm terminal blocks, which will soon also include disconnect and fuse functions. In addition, the entire portfolio is constantly being expanded so that we will soon become a full-range supplier in this area too.
Ideal for industries like railway and automation. The SNAP IN connection technology is used in the HDC-HE inserts of the RockStar® series. This makes wiring more reliable, flexible, faster and easier. The heavy duty connectors ensure reliable and fast wiring, transmitting power and data efficiently across various environments.
With OMNIMATE® 4.0 connectors, we offer both PCB connectors for power and data as well as hybrid connectors with Single Pair Ethernet. OMNIMATE® 4.0 with SNAP IN connection enables secure wiring in record time, allowing companies to save a lot of working time.
Provides a safe and straightforward power supply solution to the control level, adhering to industry standards like PROFINET in the automotive sector.

The world of electrical engineering and mechanical engineering is becoming increasingly dynamic. SNAP IN fits seamlessly into this world as a smart, future-orientated connection technology. Terminal blocks, PCB connectors, heavy duty connectors and Push Pull Power connectors with integrated SNAP IN technology are, supplied ready to wire. Manually, without tools – or fully automated: SNAP IN makes connection technology ready-to-robot. And the SNAP IN portfolio is growing continuously.
Manufacturing processes such as mounting rail assembly or labelling and wiring can be optimised with SNAP IN technology. Daily work processes become significantly faster and costs are effectively reduced. SNAP IN provides the right solution for the industry of the future. This is because the design of the SNAP IN terminal blocks is ideal for future automated production processes.
The contours of the S-series terminal blocks with SNAP IN technology are designed so that they can be easily gripped by industrial robots and placed onto a mounting rail. The labelling of terminal blocks is often an extremely time-consuming process with a high risk of errors. The design has therefore been optimised for fully automatic laser marking, which saves up to 90 % time compared to conventional solutions. Thanks to the top-accessible, force-free conductor entry, the connection is easy for robots to reach. Future robot-assisted wiring can be realised in this way. SNAP IN is therefore ready for automation in cabinet building, which has already begun and will become even more important in the coming years as part of industrial change.
As a Weidmüller distribution partner, you benefit from two decisive advantages: You become an innovation supplier for your end customers and gain access to a growing portfolio of products with SNAP IN. This enables you to simplify your end customers' wiring processes more efficiently in a wide range of applications.
When wiring processes become more convenient, safer, simpler, more automated and, above all, significantly faster, this not only has an impact on the optimization of workflows. Saving time and materials also reduces the end customer's CO2 footprint in the long term - and increases cost-effectiveness. Our SNAP IN connection technology enables installers to carry out their installation and maintenance work much more quickly and easily, ultimately resulting in significant cost savings in their day-to-day business.
As pioneers of smart industrial connectivity, we are constantly taking on new challenges, for example with product tests of a special kind. We test SNAP IN technology under the toughest conditions. Our new SNAP IN films demonstrate this:
