Compact and economical power supply solutions with high power density are in demand in countless applications; for example in building installations and building automation with their sub-distributors, field distributors and small distribution boards, meter panels, heating systems and electrical distribution boards. Similar requirements can also be found in the increasingly decentralised structures of mechanical engineering and process technology. Further applications are signal and telecommunication systems.
That's why Weidmüller has launched its new INSTA-POWER product series. The single-phase, primary clocked switching power supplies are characterised by a wide power spectrum, compact construction and good value for money. Nine variants with power outputs of 15 W, 30 W, 60 W and 96 W (5 V, 12 V, 24 V, 48 V) are available. Thanks to a wide-range voltage input of 85-264 V and international approvals (e.g. cCSAus, Cl. 1, Div. 2, NEC Class 2), they can be used worldwide - a great advantage for export-oriented plant engineering. All devices can be operated in the temperature range -25°C to +70°C (start-up: -40°C). High efficiency up to 91% and extremely low no-load power loss of max. 0.5 W ensure minimal energy costs. Together with the MTBF value in excess of 1,000,000 hours, INSTA-POWER switch-mode power supplies are an extremely economical investment over the entire service life of the device.
With an installation depth of just 60 mm, INSTA-POWER switch-mode power supplies are also found on even the smallest of panels, suitable for DIN cut-outs in various distribution boxes. Depending on the version, the width is only 22.5 - 90 mm. The INSTA-POWER devices can either be snapped onto the terminal rail or screwed onto the panel. PUSH IN connections facilitate installation, maintenance and measurements even under unfavourable installation conditions.
